Launch of Večjezičnost Velja at University of Nova Gorica

In 2014, November 25th the Slovenian branch of Bilingualism Matters was launched at University of Nova Gorica. The event took place in the main builPicMonkey Collage_3 speakersding of the University in Rožna Dolina at 16.30. Opening addresses were given by prof. Antonella Sorace, founder and director of the Edinburgh centre, and by Sandra Sodini, director of the European Grouping forIMG_1504 Territorial Cooperation (EZTS). The University was represented
by the prorector for education, prof. dr. Mladen Franko and members of the academic community. antonella & slide

At the end a music performance was offered by members of the music school of Nova Gorica.


Public lecture by prof. Sorace in Kulturni Dom

In 2014, November 26th prof. Antonella Sorace held a public lecture at Kulturni Dom (via Brass, 20, Gorizia, Italy) entitled »Bilingualism: an investment
for families and for society«, in which she talked about challenges and advantages of
bilingualism discussing current experimental studies. She  also focused on the topic of
minority languages and their role in bilingualism. After the lecture, which was in Italian with simultaneous translation into Slovenian, there was a discussion with the audience.
